APO Isang Siglo: A Century of Making History and Building a Better Future for Filipinos!
The first cement plant in the Philippines was created in 1921 under the Philippine government. As the nation’s first cement plant, it laid the foundation for industrial revolution and development. For a century, APO Cement Corporation has been a leader in numerous infrastructure projects, including the most recent Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), the longest and tallest bridge in the Philippines.
To commemorate this milestone, CEMEX Philippines commissioned a special logo for APO Cement’s 100th anniversary in 2021. The design employs a bold, modern typeface, with the old CEMEX icon integrated into the “00” to symbolize foundations, or beams, and progress with a forward momentum. The idea is to create a clean, no-frills design that respects the company’s rich history while also reflecting its commitment to innovation.
