Wonder Collab Studios: A sound commitment to innovation and audio excellence

Wonder Collab Studios, a full-service audio and music production house located in the heart of Makati, has stayed true to its mission since it started in 2017: to provide innovative, cutting-edge services that meet the industry’s highest standards while addressing the unique needs of every client.

The company had humble beginnings. It operated out of a small studio condo unit during its first two years before moving into its current, more spacious location—on the eighth floor of the Ace Building on Rada St., Makati—in December 2019. The team also grew from a trio to a group of 24 producers, sound engineers, composers, and client service and administrative staff.

 

Already accustomed to working efficiently with limited space and resources, the Wonder team remained agile in their new environment, integrating remote work into their system. This enabled them to pivot once the pandemic hit in early 2020. Indeed, adaptability is a lesson that has shaped every aspect of the studio’s journey. Wonder listens attentively to clients to understand what is needed, since not every client can articulate their requirements clearly. Celine Angue, Vice President for Client Relations and co-founder, says, “Sound engineers and composers need to be adaptable. They will always find themselves in situations where they must interpret what the client wants.” CEO and co-founder Jojo Moll adds, “We’re here to produce exceptional soundtracks and provide client service with a genuine concern for the client’s needs.”

Now in its eighth year, Wonder offers a full suite of services, including audio production for advertising and film, location sound recording, mastering, voice casting and filing, and original jingle production. It’s also poised to enter a new frontier with the opening of its new wing, Studio 8, which is dedicated to immersive sound production using state-of-the-art surround sound technology. The studio is also proud to be a Dolby Atmos-certified facility.

Wonder’s constant goal is to provide the best possible result and the best client experience every time, and its roster of clients is proof of their success: agencies like BBDO Guerrero, Mullenlowe Philippines, and TBWA; companies such as Air Asia, Alaska, Globe, and Unilab; and a variety of production houses. Since its inception, it has approached sound production as a storytelling process. As managing partner and musical director Kahlil Refuerzo explains, “We’re not just producing soundtracks or music for the sake of it. There’s always a story, a product, a client to support.”
