Type Fair Philippines 2025

What: A fete for Filipino type and talent

Where: Comuna, 238 Pablo Ocampo Sr. Extension, Makati City

Now in its third edition, Type Fair Philippines once again makes space for type-conscious individuals to connect and share ideas—and type here doesn’t mean class but the printed letter. Everyone is welcome to join TFPH ‘25’s roster of creative talks and workshops, all designed to make the celebration of the local type community in bold uppercase. Learn more about how the Filipino culture and identity have been shaped by type with the Type Library and the Filipino Type Archives Exhibit, which includes collections lent by the Design Center of the Philippines and Team Manila. Browse through cute merch, too, and see the inexhaustible creative ways to play with calligraphy and lettering. Find your tribe at this festival, no matter what your type.

IMPAKABSAT Regional Trade Fair: Colors and Creations

What: A showcase of the best of Cordilleran culture

Where: UGF, Carousel Court, Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City

Explore a curated showcase of Cordillera’s rich cultural heritage that brings together artisans and entrepreneurs from all over the region’s 6 provinces: Ifugao, Mountain Province, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, and Baguio City. With its title based on the Ilokano word “kabsat,” which means siblings, IMPAKABSAT offers the rare opportunity to taste the diversity and vibrancy of the highlands, all in one venue. From vibrant handcrafted pieces to brighten your homes to textiles intricately woven stitch by stitch, see up close the colors that make up the rich tapestry of Cordilleran culture, and take home a piece of Cordilleran craftsmanship.

What: Habing Katutubo 2025: 6th Philippine Indigenous Wears and Tapestries

What: A spotlight on native creatives

Discover amazing indigenous Filipino artists from Northern, Central, and Southern Philippines as their creations take the runway. Witness how they brought local textiles to life with modern expressions, each piece infused with their heritage and woven through with threads of ancestry and patterns of identity. Habing Katutubo Collective’s annual fashion show makes its return to provide indigenous weavers and designers a platform to showcase their artistry and craftsmanship, honed through generations of mastering the skills unique to their respective cultural identities.

What: Journey to the East

What: A gathering to celebrate multicultural connections

Calling all cosplayers, anime lovers, and Japanese culture enthusiasts: This is the event you don’t want to miss. Organized by The Taiyo Circle, a Japanese language and pop culture project, Journey to the East presents the opportunity to meet local artists, authors, craftspeople, and cosplayers. Explore the Japanese-themed arts and crafts market, join the cosplay parade, and participate in fandom games with kindred spirits. Support local artists and discover opportunities for connection.

Talahib 25

What: An anniversary concert for an all-Filipino collective

Where: Baluarte de San Diego, Intramuros

When: November 30, 2025, 6:00 pm

“Ingenious” would be an apt word to describe the craft of Talahib People’s Music, especially given the Filipino folk and world music collective’s longstanding history. They’ll be celebrating their 25th anniversary of creating and sharing music, stories, and culture with a concert that fuses the past with the present and the future, and indigenous instruments with contemporary arrangements. Listen to their powerful lyrics that discuss advocacies for pressing societal issues. As cultural historian Johan Huizinga put it, “If we are to preserve culture, we must continue to create it.”

What: A pop-up market featuring next-gen designers

Where: Rise Space Art Gallery, Comuna, Makati

When: December 1 - 13

Shop for unique finds from up-and-coming local designers ALSR, Marc Carcillar, [JOREM], Gil Salazar, André Plaus, Peach Garde, R/STUDIOS, Nadale, STEPHVERANO, Vin Orias, and Sandro Dela Pena at YARI, organized by the creative neighborhood of Comuna. Discover a new experience each day with “Designer Spotlight,” where a different designer hosts exciting events and presents a special piece. For example, André Plaus will do a live knitting performance and help select guests knit their own creations on December 10.

Ballet Philippines’ Alice in Wonderland

What: A classic tale told through dance

Where: The Theatre at Solaire

When: December 5 - 7

Fall down the rabbit hole and into Ballet Philippines’ original adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland for its 56th season. Company dancers, led by Jemima Reyes-Ocampo as Alice, will perform choreographer Mikhail Martynyuk’s playful pantomime set to a captivating score by Claude Debussy in surreal-looking sets.

The Little Prince Lantern Festival 2025

What: A bright yet poignant homage to a literary gem

Where: Street Kohi, 24 Mayaman St., UP Village, Diliman, Quezon City

When: December 12 - 14

Testament to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s powerful writing is the grip his classic novella The Little Prince has on generations of readers. If you’re one of the many who were moved by the prince’s observations of human nature, get yourself to the cozy Street Kohi and see the world De Saint-Exupéry created be translated into real life. The Little Prince Lantern Festival promises a world of starry whimsy and cosmic elegance where attendees may meet a fox to tame (and be responsible for) and encounter a rose to fall in love with and protect. Design your own lantern that will be displayed and hung around Street Kohi and fill cards with your heart’s fondest wishes. There are also The Little Prince-themed goodies to browse through, as well as The Little Prince-inspired workshops to attend. Infuse a little magic into your life while marveling at the mysteries of human nature and the universe with fellow quiet romantics.

Brickman Wonders of the World

What: An immersive exhibit built completely out of LEGO bricks

Where: The Space at Solaire

When: December 12 - February 8

Brickheads, unite! The world-renowned exhibit Brickman Wonders of the World will soon make its stop in Manila to showcase more than 45 spectacular global landmarks, all built entirely from LEGO bricks. It is led by Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught, one of the only 24 LEGO-Certified Professionals in the world, who, together with a team of LEGO brick artists, spent thousands of hours designing and constructing the Brickman display out of over 164,000 individual LEGO pieces. See the results of their work and marvel at creations whose heights reach as high as 3.6 meters. From the Taj Mahal to the Arc de Triomphe, travel the world without having to leave the city through this large-scale, walk-through exhibit.

Thirteen Artists Awards Exhibition

What: A recognition of outstanding Filipino contemporary art

Where: Sandiganbayan Reception Hall, National Museum of Fine Arts

When: Runs until January 12, 2026

For the first time since its inception in 1970, The Thirteen Artists Awards (TAA) is holding its exhibit outside the Cultural Center of the Philippines Museum. Now mounted within the hallowed halls of the National Museum of Fine Arts and curated by TAA 2015 recipient Mervy Pueblo, the TAA showcase is a triennial celebration of artists who shape and lend viability to Philippine art. The awardees are Catalina Africa, Denver Garza, Russ Ligtas, Ella Mendoza, Henrielle Baltzar Pagkaliwangan, Issay Rodriguez, Luis Antonio Santos, Joshua Serafin, Jel Suarez, Tekla Tamoria, Derek Tumala, Vien Valencia, and Liv Vinluan. Their TAA recognition was formally given to them last year, in acknowledgment of their significant contributions to the country’s artistic and cultural landscape.

The National Museum of Fine Arts is located at Padre Burgos Avenue, Rizal Park, Ermita, Manila. It is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Entrance is free.
