The music scene in the Philippines has always been vibrant, but in recent years, it has been downright flourishing. From mainstream pop to alternative and indie music, countless Filipino artists continue to bring new and distinct sounds, not just to the local but also to the Asian music landscape.

This January, CREATEPhilippines, the country’s first government-led content and community platform for local creative industries, will bring some of the must-watch Filipino musicians to electrify the global stage at Bangkok Music City, the two-day international music conference and showcase festival where creativity and talent take the spotlight. A gateway to Asia’s vibrant and fast-evolving music ecosystem, Bangkok Music City is recognized as an influential platform in the Southeast Asian region.

Through the creative export initiatives organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), CREATEPhilippines offers the six artist delegates an opportunity to showcase talent to over one hundred key players across Asia, build relationships with industry leaders, and gain strategic market intelligence, paving direct pathways to sustainable global growth, all through its market-sensing program.

Here are the six artists and their music that you might want to add to your playlist and listen to on repeat.

August Wahh

Sabrina Augustine Haw, better known as August Wahh, is a singer-songwriter who tastefully explores themes of self-discovery, authenticity, and human vulnerability with soothing blends of R&B and Nu soul. Guided by the mantra, “We are born only half ourselves—the other half is our expression,” she fearlessly pushes the boundaries of sound and soul.

bird.

An alt-indie four-piece vibe-core band, bird. is composed of bassist Carlos Calderon, drummer Hannah Jabla, guitarist Aaron Corvera, and vocalist-guitarist Eco Del Rio. They all share one goal: “To create music that feels like a safe space.” The band is in constant pursuit of good vibrations through shoegaze and dreampop sounds, creating atmospheric and relaxing music that makes the listener feel as if they are floating amongst the clouds.

Delinquent Society

Delinquent Society is the rap duo Aud and Contemplate, longtime friends from Davao who were first brought together by graffiti before turning to music that made noise across the islands. Rapping in Tagalog, English, and Bisaya, the group delivers catchy trap-driven tracks while continuing to refine their craft in the local hip-hop scene. Integral to the collective is original member Fusr, who shapes the group’s visual direction and contributes select verses, and will be joining them onstage in Bangkok Music City 2026.

ONE CLICK STRAIGHT

ONE CLICK STRAIGHT is the close-knit band of Sam, Toffer, Tim, and Joel, “three blood brothers and one spiritual brother.” Hailing from Parañaque, the band masterfully blends multiple sounds, creating a signature sound undefined by genre norms. Now producing their own festival and performing at shows, local and abroad, ONE CLICK STRAIGHT’s music weaves stories through lyrics, nostalgic instrumentals, and vocalizations.

Pedicab

A pioneer in its own right, Pedicab is an electro dance-punk band whose first three major-label albums, Tugish Takish, Shinji Ilabas Mo Ang Helicopter, and Kaya Mo Mag Sando? are widely regarded as classics in the Philippines’ alternative music scene. Instead of the traditional bass guitar, the band uses synthesizers, which, paired with a spoken-word vocal style, have given its unique sound and distinct standing in the local music industry.

PLAYERTWO

PLAYERTWO is a five-piece alternative hip-hop collective composed of producer-songwriters Ivo Impresso, Luke April, and Wave P, as well as visual directors Ven Villariza and DJ Puhken. Unbound by genre restrictions, the group fuses different influences and styles; ultimately, every track is hard-hitting, energetic, and fun. Their viral hit "THAT'S MY BABY" is a testament to their creative and ear-catching sound.
