Filipino freelancers are in huge demand in the global market. According to a 2019 report by Payoneer on the ‘Global Gig Economy Index,’ the Philippines placed sixth in the world as the fastest-growing market for the gig industry, revealing a 35 percent growth in freelance earnings.

This high demand comes as no surprise Filipino creatives are recognized around the world for being "well-spoken, persistent, entrepreneurial, internet- and tech-savvy," according to job-matching platform Kalibrr.

KYLE LEGASPI
Watercolor Painter and Illustrator



Chery Faye Legaspi, also known as Kyle, started watercolor painting in 2016, and joined the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists in 2018. In 2020, she was given an award by the BGC Arts Center for her watercolor piece in the You Art Not Alone Quarantine Art Competition. In 2021, she won second place in the PGW Hues of Hope National Watercolor Contest. Most recently, she was also granted a Merit Award for being in the top 200 watercolorists who made it to the International Watercolor Masters 2022. Legaspi had several projects as a watercolorist including being a contributing illustrator for Philippine Airlines’ in-flight magazine, Mabuhay Magazine.

Ernest Garcia creative design professional and a full-time instructor based in Manila. He has developed visual content for various industries, such as retail, real estate, hospitality, and education. Garcia specializes in creating marketing collateral, such as social media assets and banners, posters, print ads, reports, and publication designs, among others. He has worked for several prominent brands, including Monde Nissin, Shell Philippines, Watsons and Ayala Malls.

Cheryl Owen-Sobrepeña
Visual Artist and Illustrator

Cheryl Owen-Sobrepeña is a Manila-based visual artist, illustrator, and creative entrepreneur. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Major in Advertising Arts in 2009. After graduating, she pursued an advertising career until she left the industry in 2016. After graduating, Sobrepeña has ventured as a full-time artist exhibiting her works on various digital art galleries and in the Philippines, including Arte Bettina, Gallerie Anna, White Walls Gallery, and Wow X Wow. Owen-Sobrepeña’s works are watercolor and oil paintings that are inspired by nature, the Divine Feminine, and the human psyche. She weaves her imagery with a touch of symbolism that speaks and connects to the viewer on an intimate level.

ANINA RUBIO
Visual Artist and Calligrapher



Anina Rubio is a multidisciplinary visual artist focused on creating works that depict nature’s beauty to inspire others to take better care of this planet. She’s passionate about using bamboo, found objects, as well as upcycled materials to minimize waste and be sustainable when creating art. She has painted murals across the country, and has partnered with schools, companies, and communities in promoting sustainability campaigns. As a teacher and artist, she has collaborated with various brands including National Bookstore, Swap Watch, Filinvest, SM, Bayani Brew and Sunnies Specs.
