In partnership with Shelter Fund and the Communication Design Association of the Philippines, or CDAP, Type63 curated a print collection showcasing a range of typographic works from 18 designers based in the Philippines.
Among the designers featured include Alli Cunanan, Arising, BJ Cabaltera, CMYKA / Myka Arnado, Issa Cruz, Jo Malinis, Junno Salvanera, Kookie Santos, Liam Andrew Cura, Owen Suerta, Paul Gernale, Subhelic, Tee-Jay Vinarao, Timothy Justin Emata, Trixia Dela Cruz, Type Distort Decay, Uncurated Studio, and Zoë De Ocampo.
Founded in 2020, Type 63 showcases a diverse range of Filipino type design - from custom type for projects and typographic layouts, to fully realized typefaces.
Launched by Silver, the printing arm of Shutterspace Studios, Shelter Fund is an initiative aimed at helping artists produce and benefit from their work through a print-on-demand system at a minimal cost. Shelter Fund prepares and processes files for artists while managing the promotion, sales, production, and distribution of all sold prints.
CDAP is the industry organization gathering Filipino communication designers all over the world. In an effort to help designers and communities rediscover Filipino design culture and heritage, CDAP seeks to elevate communication design for national progress and development.
CDAP is composed of and founded by president Jowee Alviar, co-founder and creative director of TeamManila; vice-president Dan Matutina, designer and Plus63 Design Co. co-founder; secretary Angel Guerrero, founder & president of adobo magazine; treasurer Brian Tenorio, founder and chair/CEO of Brian Tenorio & Co.; director AJ Dimarucot, designer and owner of Love & Madness Clothing Corp.; and director Robert Alejandro, artist and designer at RAA Art & Design and Papemelroti.
